Brick Step Restoration
This project involved restoring a set of brick steps and sills that had developed cracked and deteriorating mortar joints over time. Rather than applying a surface repair, the existing brickwork was carefully dismantled so each brick could be cleaned, preserved, and rebuilt for a durable, long-lasting result.
The bricks were reinstalled with fresh mortar, restoring the strength and stability of both the steps and sills while maintaining the original design. Care was taken to match the existing layout, keep joints clean and consistent, and ensure every course was level and properly aligned.
By rebuilding the brickwork instead of simply repointing the damaged joints, the finished project not only looks refreshed but is built to withstand years of use and Manitoba’s demanding freeze-thaw conditions. The result is a clean, solid entrance that preserves the character of the original masonry while extending its lifespan for years to come.
